The Master Mind Concept of Core Hotels International is Karl Linus Waelti, He was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1946. He is clearly the right man for the job, 44 year veteran in the hotel & restaurant industry. Started his career as a cook apprentice and attended the Swiss Hotel Management College of Montana in Lucerne & Inn Keeper license in Chur Graubunden and complete career record on job held since 1975. He is regular guest lecture at the Blue Mountain Hotel Management School, Was a lecturer at the Hotel Management Institute in Kenya, Regional Director Food & Beverage for Shangri-la International for 6 years & work with architects on the development of Shangri – la Penang, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur. He also develop The Aberdeen Marina Club, the five stars of Marina Club in Hong Kong then develop Pan Pacific Singapore a hotel with 800 rooms and 12 FB outlets, Pan Pacific Hotel Auckland New Zealand as General Manager.

PROVEN TRACK RECORD Through its resilience in management Core Hotels International, has not only survived the recent financial and political turmoil in Indonesia, but also expanded its business.
Core Hotels International is now a “Turnaround Specialist” in hotel and apartment operations, management, lender workouts, asset management, development, sales and marketing, and fiscal and operations consulting. One shining example of the companies ability to turn things around quickly was the former Aquila Hotel in Jakarta. In 1996, the hotel booked a loss over Rp.220 million and in the first nine months of 1997 had further losses close to Rp.123 million. The prospects for the business when Choice Hotel took over in October 1997 looked grim indeed, as there was a lack of management direction and employee morale was negative at best. By turning the Aquila into a Quality Hotel, the losses had been pared to just Rp.16.5 million in the final quarter of 1997, and in 1998 the hotel booked a Gross Operating Profit over Rp. 1 billion – and this was during the height of the financial crisis it must be remembered. Such rapid turnarounds are the rule rather than the exception. Elsewhere, the Holiday Inn Yogyakarta was re- branded as a Quality Hotel and returned a Rp. 40 million profit just a month after took over, the hotel had been losing Rp.70 million a month and more under its previous management. The Radisson in Makassar as another hotel that has recently switched its branding to Quality Hotel Makassar, and seen immediate benefits from the move. That such success can come about is due to the strategic business plan created for each individual property. This carefully thought –out plan includes re –branding, cost cutting in all departments, and sales and marketing plan. All these plans are approved by the ownership before implementation. Core Hotels International is also able to serve in an advisory capacity. They can extend a helping hand to ownership and financial institutions, with expertise in operations and financial institutions, financial audits, business planning, capital expenditure, planning, marketing plans, competitions and demand analysis. The company has also assisted owners with the management and sales of non-performing hotels.
